Here is it Saturday morning, and all is pretty good at our house. Emily had her appointment with the neurosurgeon yesterday, although it was a long wait, we had a senior resident and a real dr., so it was a reassuring visit. Her x-ray was good, she is in no pain anymore, she gets around well, and has a sparkle in her eye, so you know she is feeling good. She does not have to wear the brace anymore, she can use it as she needs it, the dr. talked about the different spots of her back that could get stiff and sore, now just being out of the brace in the beginning, so she is well prepared. He told her she could drive, so she was at Scotts last eve, she is being very responsible about it all though. She is not staying out late, she is not driving all over the place, and is learning her tender areas. She will get there. She still has physical therapy scheduled for next week, she is going to do it as she needs too. The therapist has been great, and she has eased many fears for coming out of the brace for Em, so it has been good. I would imagine she will only do a few more, but then continue her exercises on her own at home, the work is not done yet. She does not need to see those drs. unless she has a significant pain, or something changes.
I am hanging in there, I am so looking forward to not having to feel like this again for a long while I hope. This is the hard weekend, and I know it, I just want to be done. So I will stay put, deal with the side effects, and hope I am the powerball winner tonight-wouldn't that be something-someone has to win, could be me. I am still coughing, sick to my stomach, achy joints, dizzy, tired, all the normal stuff, just less tolerant of it this time around. Better days are coming.
That is about it for right now, finally spring has sprung, I hope. Take it easy on St. Patricks day.
